I wanted to stop by and tell you about the latest PDF pattern from Izzy & Ivy Designs! We took one of our older paper pattern collections, picked out this great bustled skirt, and made it available on PDF! Such a Sweet Pea is such a fun skirt and all you have to do is add a girl, and you get instant twirling!
Such a Sweet Pea offers two views: View A has the fun, ruffly back, and View B has a solid topskirt. Either way, you can’t go wrong! It accommodates sizes 2-14, and can be made in a myriad of fabric combinations!
I chose Maureen Cracknell’s latest line, Fleet & Flourish, for these two skirts. I love the weight of Art Gallery Fabrics and it just makes this these ruffles dance! For this ruffled version, I used What Awaits in Profoundly, Expanded Aim in Violet, and Sacred Amulets in Terra.
I also made a knit tee in Minimints in Raw. The knit for this line is the infamous AGF yummy knit. Can’t go wrong with a great, midweight cotton lycra to match everything!
The solid overskirt is no shrinking violet, either. This is just as twirly and perfect for times when you don’t need something that’s so over-the-top. I used Swifting Flora in Swell and All Paths in Sunlit, and added the Art Gallery Knit Essentials tee in Peachy Custard. Yummy fabric deserves a yummy name.
The headband was also made with scraps from Fleet & Flourish, by my talented friend Annelee from The Ruffled Cupcake. We always love getting those pink bubbled envelopes in the mail!
These girls were instant friends and had such a blast modeling these skirts for me. They were troopers despite the rare cold weather we had for Spring Break this year.
This pattern makes a great skirt for any time of the year, and you can grab it on sale this weekend! I’m celebrating a big birthday, so the entire shop is 40% off! The sale runs Friday, May 13th through Monday, May 16 (11:59 pm, EST) and it includes everything in the shop! Use the code CELEBRATE40 and be on your way for some fun summer sewing!
A giant THANK YOU goes out to Art Gallery Fabrics for sponsoring this pattern. You can check out Fleet & Flourish from Maureen Cracknell, as well as so many other great lines on their website. They have some awesome fabrics releasing this summer and I’m excited to see them in person next week at Quilt Market!
