Over the seven jeweled hills, beyond the seventh fall,
In the cottage of the Seven Dwarfs, dwells Snow White,
Fairest of them all.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 1937
I seriously can’t get enough of this dress. I’ve tried my hardest to not get suckered into making too many character dresses, but the minute I saw this septet of sweet dwarfs, I HAD to make a Snow White inspired dress!
As you know, I am always excited to get the latest copy of the One Thimble Ezine (affiliate link). and Issue Four is no exception! There are so many great patterns for girls, boys, and even accessories! Throw in well-written articles on fashion trends and sewing tips, and you’ve got a great go-to collection of ideas for your next sewing project. I’ve said it before, and it’s still true, but it is hands-down, my favorite sewing Ezine to date!
I had a chance to sew this fun Honey Gum sundress designed by Jen Kennedy of Ainslee Fox Designs. She is also the editor and genius behind One Thimble and I absolutely ADORE everything I’ve been able to sew from her designs! I thought it would be perfect for my homage to this timeless princess.
Some of the features of this dress include:
- Sizes 1-12
- Partially lined bodice (uses a facing)
- Zipper closure
- Optional ties
- Printable pattern pieces for bodice and cutting measurements for rectangular pieces
- Can be purchased in the Ezine or as a stand alone pattern
Now, if you are skeered of zippers, don’t fret! Jen gives a great tutorial with several options for installing a zipper! It’s such a clean way to close up a pretty dress and seriously takes less time than a bunch of buttonholes and buttons.
Last, but not least, the spin factor. The skirt pieces are very generous and will satisfy any girl that is serious about her twirl.
I was given a copy of the One Thimble Ezine, Issue Four, for use in reviewing for this post. I was not paid for my time or thoughts and I just think they are awesome all on my own. And this post contains an affiliate link, so if you make a purchase, I get a little fabric money in my piggy bank!
