I can’t believe we are at issue number ELEVEN for One Thimble! I love watching how this wonderful magazine grows over the years. I also┬álove seeing the new articles that Jen curates and the great patterns to sew! Today you’re getting two for the price of one, because I’ve sewn my One Thimble Project in the gorgeous Boho Babe from Nel Whatmore for Free Spirit Fabrics!

I’m generally a dress and skirt sewin’ gal, so when I come across a unique pair of pants, I look forward to sewing them up and seeing how my daughter likes them. The Adventurer Pants from Rabbit Rabbit definitely piqued my interest! Unique waistband and ankle treatments and accented side panels provide lots of ways to incorporate contrasting fabrics and bold topstitching.

This pattern calls for two fabrics, but I chose to add a third by changing up the waistband, anklebands, and the front pocket trims. I really love that this main Boho Babe print from the line of the same name echos that sense of adventure.

I sewed the size 5 for my petite little girl and I really love the fit. They aren’t too baggy or tight, and while they are a little on the long side, she can wear them all Summer long, and probably into the Fall. Jasmin gives you great instructions on how to mix sizes if your child doesn’t fit into the same size for waist and length.

My original intention was to pair these up with a cute tank. And we did that, but a dreary 50 degrees Fahrenheit at 6:45 am proved to test the bounds of my model’s will. So now you can see that it looks really cute with a jean jacket, right?
