Welcome to the Izzy & Ivy Designs’ Tallulah Sew Along!
If you haven’t picked up your copy of the Tallulah pattern from our shop yet, it’s not too late! Hop over and purchase it for a great price, then come back and join in on the fun!
For this sew along, we’re going to be sewing the Tallulah Top/Dress from Izzy & Ivy Designs. This is a great, versatile pattern on its own, but we’re going to add a few changes that will really add some fun to your back-to-school sewing. I’ll be showing you how to finish the bodice so that you don’t have to add sleeves and also how to make the sash into a fun side tie!
I have 2 amazing sponsors for this sew along! Riley Blake generously provided the fabric for this sweet outfit that you’ll see throughout the week. The knits and wovens for the dress are from their Vintage Market line from Tasha Noel. It just says SUMMER to me and I love the combination of pinks, reds, and shades of blue. My 5 year old loved the drawings of the kids, so that’s why she picked the main market fabric! It’s too sweet!
And that adorable head scarf you see will a free tutorial on this blog the day after the sew along, so check back to get the 411 on that!
Danielle is the owner of Whimsical Fabrics and she is going to be giving away some awesome prizes for our participants! She has an amazing shop with gorgeous fabrics and she even made some kits for our Sew Along! I’m looking forward to seeing all of the amazing Tallulahs you all make with her fabric!
So today’s task: gather you fabrics, notions, etc., if you haven’t already done so. Wash and dry your fabrics, print your pattern and cut out the pieces, and decide on sleeves or sleeveless, and side tie or regular sash. If only all of our decisions were that easy! Snap a pic of your fabrics, head over to the Izzy & Ivy Designs Lovers Group and upload your photo into the album for an entry to win some great sew along prizes!
Need pants? You can use any pants or capris pattern to pair with your Tallulah dress or top. I took our Polly’s Playclothes leggings and cropped them by 5″. You can also purchase those at Danielle’s shop and use the code SewAlongSavings for 15% off! These aren’t part of the sew along, but don’t they look adorable? Thanks to Riley Blake and their red Quarter Stripe Knit.
