Welcome back to the Tallulah sew along! We’re on day two, but it’s still not too late to join in, so grab the pattern, some awesome fabric, and jump right in!
If you missed day one, you can check it out HERE.
Now that you have your fabrics all washed and dried, you’re ready to start cutting! Some of your pieces will be cut according to the pattern’s measurement chart. If you are doing the long sleeved version, please see the pattern for those cutting instructions.
Skirt (dress or tunic version)- 2 pieces
Waistband- 1 piece
Ties- see chart if you are doing the SIDE TIE modification- 2 pieces
Side Tie Measurement Chart
Neckband trim- 1 piece
Armband trim- 1 ½” x 40” should be out of your bodice knit fabric or a contrasting knit. I recommend 1×1 ribbing or 95% cotton/5% lycra. Greatest stretch should be along the long edge.
Pocket binding (optional)- 2 pieces- I left off the pockets because I wanted to highlight the side tie and the print on the fabric.
Hemband (dress version only)- 2 pieces
2 front bodice pieces (mirror image) (pattern pieces)
1 back bodice piece (pattern pieces)
2 pockets (optional) (pattern pieces)
2 each sleeve and cuff pieces ONLY if you are doing the sleeves as the pattern is written- pattern pieces for sleeves, and cuffs have a piece OR cutting measurements.
I wish that I had taken a picture of my pile of fabric…but I didn’t. Once you have yours cut and ready to go, take a pic and add it to the album in our group! Another light day, but tomorrow the sewing will commence!!!by
