Girls in White Dresses

You know where I’m going with this, right? …with blue satin sashes Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes. Bright paper packages tied up with strings, These are a few of my favorite things! You get the idea. I could sing it for you and show you how years of not practicing my vocal training has taken a toll on my once Mezzo Soprano voice, but I’ll spare you the Julie Andrews wanna be act. Besides, while I might be able to sing a mean solfege scale, I could never yodel like she did in “The Lonely Goatherd.” Wait! You’re here to actually see one of my favorite things! Let’s get to business, shall we? A Few of Our Favorite Things Blog Tour- Snickerdoodle Stew Welcome to the A Few of Our Favorite Things Blog Tour and Giveaway! I’m so honored to represent Izzy & Ivy by being a part of this star-studded team! If you are keeping score at home, you saw the amazing Brownie-Goose Lennon Dress, sewn by the fabulous Alexis from My Sweet Sunshine. If you missed it, you HAVE to head over there and read where she spills the beans about her fabric purchased. *Ahem* Anyway, each of these stops on the tour has something fun from their respective pattern designer, so don’t skip one or you’ll miss out! Here’s our tour schedule, you know, in case you want to stalk us all week.

A Few of Our Favorite Things Blog Tour- Snickerdoodle StewNow that you have the tour info, here’s one of MY favorite things: The Tallulah Dress. I’ve made several of these and I love to do pattern hacks to see how I can change them up. It’s a really fun pattern and there are so many variations, from knit and/or woven fabrics to top or dress length. And those are just the in-pattern options! A Few of Our Favorite Things Blog Tour- Snickerdoodle StewFor this Tallulah, I chose to swap out cuffs for a ruffle. I also did a 4″ ruffle at the bottom instead of a hemband. I wanted something a little more special since this was going to be for Christmas. A Few of Our Favorite Things Blog Tour- Snickerdoodle StewOddly enough, we did dodge lots of rain during this photo shoot. Raindrops on roses,  anyone?A Few of Our Favorite Things Blog Tour- Snickerdoodle Stew I used colors that were just a hint of Christmas, which makes this a dress she can wear all Winter long, and into the spring. These amazing fabrics were generously sponsored by Riley Blake and I used knit for all of the bodice and woven for the skirt and sash. I’ll break down the individual prints for you later, but these were great to work with and my girl has always loved wearing them! A Few of Our Favorite Things Blog Tour- Snickerdoodle StewAnother reason I chose to put a splash of pink in her dress was that we have always thought she looked like Cindy Lou Who, with those big eyes, long lashes, and smiley cheeks. A Few of Our Favorite Things Blog Tour- Snickerdoodle StewKnit- Riley Blake Basics in Solid Hot Pink and Red Dot Woven-Roses, Stripes, and Dot in Primrose Garden and Fancy Free Floral in Green Bubblegum necklace- Jellitots I hope you’ve enjoyed one of my favorite things, because now I’m going to share it with one lucky winner! In fact, Izzy & Ivy is giving away a 2 pattern pack to someone, so make sure you enter to win! a Rafflecopter giveaway

What an adorable model and that dress is breath taking. I too love this pattern and all the variations you can do with it. Fabric choices always make the same pattern look so different.
