Grab your skirt and your completed pockets. Lay your skirt on a flat surface. Fold your pockets in half and put a pin in the center of the bottom edge of the pocket.

  1. Using Figure 1 as a guide, measure down the following distance on the side seam of your skirt:
    Sizes  2, 3, & 4- 4″
    Sizes 5, 6 & 7-  6”
Sizes 8, 10, 12 & 14- 8”At your designated distance, place a pin and  measure 2.5″ to the right and the left of the center.

  2. Line up the points of the pocket  with your two pin marks, centering the bottom edge of your pocket with the seam of the skirt. Pin the rest of the pocket in place, leaving the ties undone. There should be a bit of a bubble in the center of your pocket. See Figure 2.

  3. Using a 1/8″ seam allowance and starting at the upper right hand corner of your pocket, top stitch your pocket in place. Shortening your stitch length will help hug those curves, too. Make sure to backstitch! Tie your pocket ties in a knot and you’re finished! See Figure 3.We are finished for today! We’re in the home stretch and have two days left. Be sure to get those pics in for the daily drawing in the fan group! You’ll have until 11:59 pm PST on Friday, March 18 to get those in. I can’t wait to see all of these gorgeous dresses when all is said and done. Happy sewing!
