One Fabric Nation- Addie Jo Skirt

I’m back with another Loominous 2 project for you! This line is different from most of the traditional fabrics you see from Anna Maria Horner. Think shirting weight and jacquard fabrics. They are soft and light and are great for any of your woven garment projects. You can see the knit/woven combo I made with the Charly pattern HERE. Today, I’m going to share the Addie Jo Skirt paper pattern from Izzy & Ivy Designs.

One Fabric Nation- Loominous 2 Charly

I have this quirky little habit when it comes to fabric designers. Sometimes I give designers nicknames. I use them with my fabric savvy friends because we all talk online and our fingers get weary of typing out all of the names. You know, because we have to save our precious fingers for the sewing. Names like JPags, JDew, and AMH frequent our conversations and Mrs. Paganelli, Mr. Dewberry, and Mrs. Horner are among our favorites.

One Fabric Nation- Cali Mod Wrap Up and Giveaway

I have had so much fun working with Cali Mod, the latest group of pretties from Joel Dewberry and Free Spirit Fabrics. In fact, I really want to sew through what I have left, but I need to catch up on a few more projects first. Too many ideas to use up these gorgeous colors! I have a trifecta of garments here to recap, and then stick around for a great giveaway at the end!

Labor Day SALE

9 years ago this weekend, I was hoping for a REAL Labor Day. As in, have a baby, Labor Day. We thought things would go one way, but they went another, and while I had a baby on September 5, 2009, there was definitely no labor involved. So even though we had a c-section with…

One Thimble 12- The Azure Party Dress

I can hardly believe that we are on Issue 12 of One Thimble! (affiliate link) We are almost to the three year mark for my favorite E-zine! It’s just an amazing collection of all things sewing and I hope that you check them out and not just take my word for it. Issue 12 is chock full of some great new patterns and articles, as all One Thimble issues are, and you can check out more great reviews on the One Thimble Blog Tour.

Back to School: Made for Mermaids’ Style

My kids attend a school where we follow a balanced calendar, almost a year-round type of schedule, so we’ve been back to the daily grind for a few weeks now. They also wear uniforms, which kind of breaks this handmade mama’s heart. But just because we can’t actually wear our new clothes to school, it doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun and celebrate gorgeous patterns and fun fabric! I think we will at least have a pretty new dress for school pictures!

Posy Garden Blog Tour

One of the coolest things I got to see at Quilt Market was Carina Gardner’s infamous camper AKA “Glamper”. She redid the inside of the camper to reflect her newest line for Riley Blake Fabrics. Pulled it right into the convention center! Quilting friends from far and near sewed up the cutest mini quilts and…

Summer Lovin’ Izzy & Ivy Style

For Quilt Market this year, I had a chance to sew for a new-to-me fabric designer. Susan Emory of Swirly Girl Designs creates for Michael Miller Fabrics, and her latest line, Summer Lovin’, has some of the cutest prints! I got a chance to play with it and I thought I’d share my creations with you! It’s shipping now, so find your favorite retailer that sells Michael Miller and check it out!

Summer Pattern Bundle

Earlier this spring I won an amazing bundle of fabric from Art Gallery! You all ¬†know by now that I love all things AGF, so I was over the moon to find out that I was receiving a half yard bundle, plus a yard each of canvas and voile, from Sew Caroline’s newest line, Chalk…

Desert Bloom Beverly Belle

Back in April I received an email from Amanda Herring, asking me if I’d like to participate in her Desert Bloom Blog Tour. WOULD I?!?! I tried to maintain my composure and not go all fangirl on her, but I don’t think I kept my cover very well. You know when you have those favorite…
